Watch as the Meetinghouse tower was lifted by crane to the ground for the next phase of restoration. SHS Awarded NH Preservation Alliance Grant
SHS was recently awarded a matching grant toward the restoration efforts underway for the South Sutton Meetinghouse. The grant will help support the full restoration of the eight twenty-five-over-twenty historic windows, and the twelve-over-eight window with sidelights above the meetinghouse’s entrance. This grant is made possible by an award to the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance from The 1772 Foundation.

Sutton is blessed with a wealth of historical buildings and landmarks. Such links to earlier times are unusual throughout the towns of modern day New Hampshire.

Funds raised will help complete a generous matching grant from the New Hampshire Land and Community Heritage Investment Program (LCHIP) to restore the aging South Sutton Meetinghouse.
